Max Prop® Max Bianchi
The Max Prop® Max Bianchi® propeller is an Easy feathering propeller equipped with a patented device that allows it to automatically vary its pitch while underway. This pitch variation makes it possible to achieve speeds close to hull speed across a wide range of cruising RPMs. Indeed, as RPM decreases, the pitch increases, maintaining high speeds with a larger pitch.
As RPM increases, the pitch of the new Max Bianchi® propeller decreases so that the engine can always reach the maximum RPM recommended by its manufacturer. In this way, the propeller performs an important "engine-saving" function. During navigation, the automatic pitch variation ensures—under any sea condition—that the necessary safety margin is maintained to prevent engine overload.
Furthermore, cruising at high speeds at low RPMs preserves the entire propulsion system, resulting in significantly less wear over the same distance traveled.

The number of blades also plays a secondary role compared to diameter and pitch. The two main (albeit modest) influences of blade count are:
- Noise reduction: Under specific sailing conditions, a propeller with a higher number of blades (preferably an odd number) is generally quieter than the same propeller with fewer blades.
- Theoretical optimal diameter: Relative to an optimal three-blade propeller, the optimal diameter varies as follows:
Two-blade propeller: 3% larger diameter
Four-blade propeller: 2.5% smaller diameter
Five-blade propeller: 4% smaller diameter
